New Study Discourages Spanking as a Form of Discipline

Pediatricians are hardening their stance against spanking children as a form of parental discipline. They say that there seems to be a strong correlation between spanking and aggressive child behavior, depressive symptoms in adolescence and more. Pediatricians are encouraging and educating parents on other positive ways to discipline their child but respect that ultimately parents can make their own choice on how to raise their children.
