No one enjoys having to go to the emergency room, and checking in can add to your wait before being seen. Now, if you have an active MyChart account, you could save time by using MyChart’s eCheck-in on your mobile device at the Emergency Room.
How to use MyChart’s Self Check-in:
- Once you arrive, visit the registration desk and a staff member will collect your email and phone number linked to your MyChart.
- You will receive a text or email notification from MyChart prompting you to complete your registration.
- Log in to your MyChart and click the button that says “Self-Registration” on you landing page.
You will be asked to review and verify your personal information, contacts, and to fill out a questionnaire about your emergency visit needs.
Once you have completed and reviewed your information, you will be asked to electronically sign that all information is accurate.
You’re all set! You will be shown a similar Self-Registration Complete message, make sure to follow the prompt for in-person clinic visits, and let the front desk staff know you have arrived.
Please note that not all patients who arrive at the Emergency Room are eligible to using self check-in. The following patients are not eligible:
- Patients who do not have an active MyChart account.
- Patients 17 years of age or younger.
- Patients with a mobile phone number that exists on multiple patient records.
- Patients with no mobile phone on file.
- Patients who opted out of the ‘Appointment Information’ communication preference.
- Patients who need an interpreter.
- Homeless patients.
- Patients escorted by Police.
- Patients whose Means of Arrival are any of the following:
- Police
- AMR-ALS
- Tri-Meds-ALS
- Medic
- Rural Metro-ALS
- AID Unit
- AMR-BLS
- Tri-med-BLS
- NW Ambulance
- EMS Other
