Celebrating 100 Years of Occupational Therapy

The Occupational Therapy profession turns 100 years old this year this month. As American OT professionals, we have a long-standing history of providing services to clients and patients to help increase their abilities, independence and function in daily life activities.

How do our Valley OT professionals help patients and families?

Occupational therapists also have a long-standing history of providing services here at Valley Medical Center. Our OT staff provides services to our youngest patients in the NICU to our oldest patients in the hospital or as outpatients. In serving our patients, our OTs complete comprehensive assessments and provide individual plans of care. We encourage and teach each patient and when appropriate, their families and caregivers, to improve their skills and function in the tasks of daily living such as: feeding, dressing, bathing, energy conservation, time management, hand function and much more. Our OTs work to help each individual live life to the fullest.
