U.S. News & World Report Ranks Valley Medical Center as High Performing in Three Areas

USNewsHighPerformingHospitalLogoAs part of U.S. News & World Reports annual Best Hospitals rankings, Valley Medical Center earned recognition this year for high performance in three procedures and conditions:

  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
  • Heart failure
  • Hip replacement

“We are extremely proud of Valley’s entire team,” says Jamie Park, MD, Valley Medical Center’s Senior Vice President & Chief Medical Officer. “From our providers and clinical teams to service and support staff who work collaboratively with one vision: To provide the best patient care to every patient, every time. This recognition is confirmation that our goals are creating a high performing environment where patients get remarkable care.”

What are the ratings for and how were they derived? The Best Hospitals procedures and conditions ratings show consumers how well their local hospitals stand up to close scrutiny. Hospitals are rated high performing, average or below average in a procedure or condition. Data was obtained from a federal data set, including Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, as well as measures from the 2014 American Hospital Association’s annual survey, the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
