Valley Colleagues Share Selfie Tapestries as We Celebrate Women’s History Month 2022

By Valley’s Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Committee

Women have come a long way, and we have a long way to go, but there is no greater force in place than that of unified women. In our current moment at Valley Medical Center, women continue to lead. We are a predominately female organization that has shown true grit, resilience and hope during trying times. We thank everyone who identifies as a woman here at Valley for their strength, and we thank all of the women who have impacted and shaped who they have become. Several of our Valley team have shared their thoughts about Women’s History Month, women who have inspired them, aspirations for the future and more.

What Women’s History Month Means to Me:
It means equal rights, it means freedom to speak, it means future generations of women will have the opportunities that past generations did not. Celebrating femininity for its beauty, courage, and resilience.

What Women’s History Month Means to Me:
It’s a month to ponder on all the accomplishments and setbacks we’ve had as women. It’s a time to reflect on the work that still needs to be done while celebrating the inspiring women of the past, present, and future! Own your female power and know your worth!

What Women’s History Month Means to Me:
I have had so many amazing and inspiring women in my life, having a month to stop and recognize their accomplishments and their efforts to create a better future for all of us is important. I have the joy of working in women’s healthcare, where I can support our providers in caring for women in all stages of life.

What Women’s History Month Means to Me:
It is a privilege to be an educated woman with a voice and the freedom to make choices. Women’s History Month reminds me both of the sacrifices made in order for me to have that privilege, and of the terrible injustices still prevalent for too many women on this earth.

What Women’s History Month Means to Me:
Celebrating Women’s History Month is a reminder of the accomplishments of women throughout the years & the caregivers and frontline workers during this ongoing pandemic. Also giving recognition to the thousands of ways that women of ALL cultures have provided both healing & hope throughout history!

What Women’s History Month Means to Me:
This month is a time to celebrate all the contributions and milestones that women have achieved throughout history and a reminder of the path they have paved for us. I’m blessed to be surrounded by strong and inspiring women in my life who have played a significant role in who I am today. This is also very true in my current role where I’m a part of a phenomenal all-women leadership team.

As the famous Ruth Bader Ginsburg said, “Women belong in all places where decisions are being made. It shouldn’t be that women are the exception.“ We will continue to persevere and be the change for a brighter future.
