Washington State Department of Health Launches Free Mobile App Designed to Support Cancer Survivors

The Washington State Department of Health (DOH), in collaboration with 2Morrow Health, Inc., has launched a free mobile app called Vital: A Companion App for People Living with Cancer. This app aims to provide cancer survivors in Washington with tools and resources to support their journey through treatment and recovery.

Designed with feedback from cancer survivors and caregivers, the app offers interactive, self-paced lessons that address common challenges faced during and after cancer treatment. Some of the key topics include:

  • Coping with side effects
  • Asking for emotional support
  • Staying healthy during recovery
  • Communicating effectively with your care team
  • Managing fatigue

Robert Douglas, MD, Valley Radiation Oncologist, praised the app for its user-friendly design and valuable features: “The app is well-constructed and easy to use. It includes daily lessons and reminders about topics like stress, chronic pain, grief, and adapting to life changes. These features make it a fantastic tool. It’s also great for anyone who enjoys journaling as part of their healing process.”

Cancer survivors can download Vital today to explore these resources and take an active step in their journey toward well-being. The app is now available for download on iPhone and Android devices. Those without smartphones or tablets can sign up and access resources through 2Morrow Health’s website.
