Valley Medical Center Launches Drug Donation Program

To reduce medication waste and support patients in need, Valley Medical Center launched a Drug Donation Program. One survey has shown two-thirds of prescription drugs in U.S. households go unused—this program offers a way to put those medications to good use.

How It Works: Patients can donate sealed, unexpired prescription medications. Donations will be reviewed and, if eligible, redistributed at no cost to Valley patients in need of a temporary supply.

Starting May 8, 2025, donations are accepted during regular business hours at:

Prescription Pad Pharmacy North
3915 Talbot Rd S, Suite 201, Renton, WA 98055
Mon–Fri, 8 AM – 6 PM

Prescription Pad Pharmacy South
400 Talbot Rd S, Renton, WA 98055
Inside the main hospital, across from the Emergency Room
Daily, 8 AM – 2 AM

What We Accept:

  • Sealed, unused medication bottles
  • Individually packaged (unit-dose) medications
  • Sealed, unused creams and ointments
  • Sealed, unused inhalers
  • Must have at least 6 months until expiration

Not Accepted:

  • Injectable medications (e.g., insulin)
  • Medications in pharmacy-dispensed amber vials
  • Controlled substances
  • Eye drops
  • Over-the-counter medications (e.g., Tylenol, ibuprofen, vitamins)

Items we can’t accept can still be safely discarded using our Medication Take Back Kiosks at both pharmacy locations.
