Valley Celebrates Pride

Valley Celebrates Pride

In honor of Pride Month, Valley proudly raises the Pride flag each June, reaffirming our commitment to caring for our community like family. We are delighted to share this year’s ceremony with you, featuring remarks from our CEO, Jeannine Erickson Grinnell, and Registered Nurse Kawai Kaneali’i. Watch the video below.

For the 13th consecutive year, Valley has been nationally recognized as a Leader in Healthcare Equality by the Healthcare Equality Index, reflecting our ongoing commitment to promoting equitable and inclusive care for our LGBTQIA+ caregivers, patients, and their loved ones. We’re extremely proud of this designation, and remain committed to serving all patients with dignity, respect, and the best care possible.

Facilities who achieve this recognition meet several key indicators for equitable care, including nondiscrimination policies for LGBTQIA+ patients and employees, a guarantee of equal visitation for same-sex partners and parents, LGBTQIA+ health education for staff, and much more. For more information about the Healthcare Equality Index, or to download a free copy of the report, visit hrc.org/hei.
