Renton’s Cugini Florists and Fine Gifts and Valley Medical Center Partner to Provide Online Gift Shop Services to Valley Staff and Patients

Whether you’re sending congratulations on the arrival of a new baby, or well wishes to someone recovering from surgery or illness, Valley’s community partner, Cugini Florists and Fine Gifts, has you covered! In late 2023, Valley and Cugini partnered to provide an online gift shop to make it easy to send a present to a loved one at Valley Medical Center’s main campus. In addition to the large selection of treats, apparel, décor, and gorgeous floral arrangements, sending a gift via the online store has an added bonus—complimentary delivery to Valley’s main campus!*

We posed a few questions to Cugini Florists and Fine Gifts’ owner, Arique Jacques, to learn more about the renowned store and why he wanted to partner with Valley.

Tell us about your history with Cugini Florists and Fine Gifts.
Arique: Once upon a time, some 22 years ago, I worked at Cugini Florists as a floral designer. This is when I learned what an amazing experience this type of retail setting offers to the community. The time I spent at Cugini stuck with me as I continued my design career.

In 2020, amidst a time of global sorrow, I purchased Cugini Florists as a way to lead a more fulfilling life and help continue sending love, happiness, and hope out into the world through specialty gifts and amazing florals.

Why did you want to partner with Valley Medical Center?
Arique: I spent lots of time at Valley Medical Center during my mother’s pre-op, post-op, and recovery from an amputation amendment and chronic infection. I became familiar with the facility and saw that the long-time operating gift shop had closed. My partnership with Valley Medical Center developed because I know how much it means to receive flowers and gifts in the hospital. I wanted to give loved ones, friends, and family an easy way to send love, happiness, and hope to those in the hospital, staff, and all persons at (Valley).

You carry products from many local and diverse vendors at your store. Why is that important to you?
Arique: Supporting my neighbors and community has always been in my heart. As an artisan/maker myself, I know how much love goes into a handmade creation and it can be difficult to sell your products. I have met many amazing individuals and am proud to partner with them carrying locally made brittle, truffles, candles, jewelry, pickles and sauces, and bath bombs.

What else would you like our readers to know about Cugini Florists and Fine Gifts?
Arique: (We) are the last remaining brick and mortar full-service florist in Renton. Our history with the community runs deep and we have been there through thick and thin for many families over the years. It is my honor to continue serving the community as we move into our 51st year in Renton.

I am so excited about this partnership!
Having the ability to send love and hope to those in the hospital is an absolute necessity. People need the love and support of those around them! Sending a thoughtful gift and card to someone who needs to be uplifted in their time of need will create memories that will last a lifetime!
