Valley Receives Prestigious Center of Excellence Designation for Robotic Surgery

Valley is proud to share that we recently received accreditation as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery from Surgical Review Corporation (SRC). This designation comes after months of hard work from our surgical teams and reflects our high standards in safety and in delivering quality patient care.

Hospitals and doctors trying to get SRC accreditation go through a detailed check to make sure they match SRC’s high standards. This includes checking the number of surgeries they do, the tools and equipment they use, their standard steps for patient care, how they educate patients, and ongoing checks for quality. Inspectors also teach the staff the best ways to give care and improve their services.

“I am so proud of the work we do at Valley and our exceptional robotic surgery team. This Center of Excellence designation is a testament to the exemplary care we provide our robotic surgery patients throughout their experience, from pre-operative evaluation, to their operation, and through recovery. We are dedicated to providing the highest level of care to our community, which includes robotic surgery and its many benefits,” says Greta V. Bernier, MD, FACS, FASCRS; Chief of Surgery, Medical Director of Robotic Surgery.

Status as an accredited Center of Excellence means that Valley has met nationally and internationally recognized standards. Not all hospitals and surgeons seek accreditation; not all that undergo the inspection process are granted accreditation.

Patients can take comfort in knowing that we have received third-party verification for our exceptional patient care efforts. SRC’s strict evaluation guidelines prioritize patient safety and continuous quality improvement.

We commend the incredible surgeons who are part of our robotic surgery program and all the staff members of our surgical teams whose years of hard work made this designation possible. This commitment to expanding our patients’ access to minimally invasive robotic surgery while maintaining a safe environment and quality patient experience is key to our mission of caring for our community like family.
