Valley Celebrates Pride Month 2019

Valley Celebrates Pride Month 2019

On June 5, nearly 100 Valley staff members gathered on the hospital roof to raise the Pride flag. In his remarks, Jeremy Wyatt, Valley’s Manager of Perioperative Services and Sterile Processing, and leader of Pride activities for Valley and the UW Medicine Health System since 2012 said:

“We raise the Pride flag for our LGBTQ+ patients. We do this, so they may have less stress or worries as they come here for their healthcare needs.

We raise the Pride flag for our LGBTQ+ staff and providers. So, we may care for our patients and practice medicine with the peace of mind that we are accepted for who we are.

We raise the Pride flag along with all of UW Medicine for the communities we serve. We do this, so we may show them that we have a strong foundation in Healthcare Equity and Diversity.
