Research Study Participants for Study on Impacts of Adapted Ride-on Cars for Children with Disabilities and their Families

Each participating family will receive a free, customized, adapted, ride-on car and be compensated $50 for participating in the study. All study procedures will take place at a time and location of the family’s choice. University of Washington researchers are looking for:

  • Children ages 1-4 years old with developmental delay (not due to another known genetic condition) or cerebral palsy (CP) and their families
  • Families who are interested in participating in a year-long, community-based, mobility study using adapted, toy ride-on cars

Research activities include:

  • Interviews (60-90 minutes, quarterly)
  • A photography narrative project (120 minutes at family discretion)
  • Car-use monitoring using a custom-built data logger (ongoing)
  • Social communication monitoring (2 days per month)
