UW Medicine Hospitals named 2017 Leaders in LGBTQ Healthcare Equality by Human Rights Campaign Foundation

All four UW Medicine hospitals (including UW Medicine | Valley Medical Center) have been named 2017 Leaders in LGBTQ Healthcare Equality by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation.

The national recognition is based on the Healthcare Equality Index 2017, which evaluates 590 healthcare facilities in the U.W. for their implementation of LGBTQ-inclusive policies and practices in four areas: patient-centered care, patient services and support, employee benefits and policies, and patient and community engagement. The HRC Foundation has designated Valley Medical Center as a leader in LGBTQ healthcare equality since 2012.
