Texting on the Job? It’s All About Enhancing Patient Care with New Smartphone Technology Pilot

Are you wondering why so many nurses around Valley are looking at their phones? They aren’t checking out their Twitter feeds, they’re actually testing the latest technology in patient care. On Monday, June 20, Valley will begin piloting Voalte (pronounced “volt”) a new patient care system using smartphone technology. “Truly integrating voice, text, alarm and alert notifications on the Voalte smartphone system will empower (Valley’s) interdisciplinary care team to collaborate efficiently and effectively, respond to patients quickly and promote a quiet, healing environment,” says James Jones, VP Nursing.

James continues, “This has truly been a value-based purchase for our organization as we continually look at new and innovative ways to care for our patients. Voalte will help us deliver the workflow that our nurses and providers deserve.”
